Our Story

Every great love story starts somewhere—and ours began with a swipe. We met on Bumble, a modern love story if there ever was one. From the moment we connected, conversation was easy, light, and promising. Our first date, however, was a bit more… adventurous. John took me to a German restaurant, which (no offense to schnitzel lovers) was a little rough on the taste buds. But instead of calling it a night, we walked to a local Indio brewery nearby, only to discover it was salsa dancing night. We didn’t dance—we were the wallflowers in the back—but somehow, just being there together was enough. Despite the questionable bratwurst, I didn’t let that scare me away. John was sweet, funny, and the perfect gentleman. Our second date showed just how thoughtful (and persistent) he really is. He scouted out a peaceful lakeside barbecue spot the day before—only to be chased off by security while trying to find the best view. But come date day, he found the perfect spot. We ate barbecue by the lake, and the view was only rivaled by the company. From there, everything just clicked. We bonded over our love for baseball games, endless Mexican food runs, and hunting down the best barbecue joints around. Somewhere along the way, I turned him into a queso lover (and he never looked back). I also introduced him to the magic of Dairy Queen Blizzards—he's still thanking me for that. On Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, after church, John asked me to marry him outside the Buford Community Center. It was simple, sweet, and perfect—just like us. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter of our story with all of you. Thank you for being part of it. With love, Whitney & John
