We're Getting Married!

We met casually at Florida International University at a Black Student Union event. With a mutual friend, we conversed, ate and innocently exchanged social media handles. A year later we began communicating more frequently, grew a friendship that eventually evolved into the most beautiful relationship one could ever ask for. We like to say our relationship is just a friendship on fire.

It was our birthday weekend, Friday, November 1st, Darnell gets a phone call from a friend inviting him last minute to go on a yacht. With some resistance, I agreed to go. To my surprise, our friends and family were there. The chartered yacht was for me. ( Something I've always wanted to do). Two hours later, after all the fun, from eating, jet skiing, swimming in the ocean, he popped the question. Right when I thought I couldn't be anymore happier. #BestBirthdayEver!!
