We met in the spring of 2010, and it wasn't until the fall that we felt a real connection and spark for one another. My sister introduced us, not knowing we would eventually be getting married. We hadn't been dating for long when we realized how in love we were and how prepared we were to face the future together. High-school age seemed young-we both still had plenty of schooling and growing to do, but against many odds our love stayed and continued to grow as we did. We experienced so much together, studied for tests, attended church and family gatherings, and even worked our first jobs side-by-side. The long-distance we felt with college made us appreciate each other more and the time we shared. We had skype and facetime dates, short getaway weekends, and lots of phones calls during the academic year. During this time we learned that our love and commitment to one another would take energy and patience, and that it was worth it. We are young adults now, still finishing school and deciding on careers, but we are more in love than ever and we are ready to officially say "I do" to the rest of forever.
Those who know Jason and I, know we are huge Disney Lovers. So what better place to get engaged than Walt Disney World. Jason knew how to make his proposal memorable and magical while keeping his plans secret from me. He planned a fancy dinner for just the two of us at the California Grill, but him and my family kept this reservation secret from me until we were on the way to the restaurant. This restaurant sits on the top floor of the Contemporary Resort, overlooking Magic Kingdom. It was a breathtaking view of a sun-setting sky over Cinderella's Castle. The food was delicious and everything was perfect. After dinner a waitress set this bouquet of white flowers and blue tulle that was shaped like a pillow on our table. On top of the bouquet was a crystal tiara and glass slipper. Then Jason asked me to stand up. Of course I did and he got down on one knee. He told me he loved me and asked me to marry him. He is a man of few words, but he means them. I said "yes!" and he put the most beautiful diamond ring on my finger. Another waitress brought us some champagne while we continued to enjoy our moment and take some pictures. It was magical and I couldn't be happier. -Catherine
