We’re getting married!

After getting fully settled in Kansas, Alex decided to try her luck at the online dating world which Keegan had been a part of for a short time. After two days of frustration, Alex deleted Bumble without looking back, not realizing that she hadn't deleted her actual account, just the app on her phone. Keegan was swiping through one day and saw a picture of Alex and Finn. Due to the nature of Bumble, and the fact that Alex deleted her account, there would be no way that Alex and Keegan would ever make contact. Keegan decided to take matters into his own hands and searched for Alex in the land of social media. He found her on Instagram and sent her a request. Upon initial review, Alex thought that Keegan seemed like a nice guy with a wonderful family and dog. They also realized they had a mutual friend/family member in common, so what could go wrong? On April 5th of 2021, Keegan reached out with a message that read, "Hi Alex! First of all, I saw you on Bumble and figured that I'd see if I could find you here! Your pup looks like a sweetheart, you have an unbelievably contagious smile, and you like hockey!?" They had their first date on April 9th at Back Alley Pizza and went to Alex's house after. The rest is history.

Keegan had original plans to propose to Alex at The Broadmoor hotel in Colorado Springs over Christmas break when they would visit Keegan's family. Alex has family ties to this hotel and the couple got to enjoy a dinner at the Golden Bee and walked around the property back over the summer. When Keegan asked Alex's parents for their permission to marry her, Jim (Alex's dad) made a comment about how he was jealous that him and Denise wouldn't be there to celebrate the engagement. Keegan really took that to heart. The week of Thanksgiving, Keegan got the ring on Tuesday and decided Wednesday that he would propose on the following Friday. Keegan's parents, Jen and Den, were in town from Colorado so both sides of the family planned to go to dinner and then to the Arboretum in Hesston. Alex had absolutely no idea that he was going to propose that night, although Keegan did make sure that she had her nails done. After walking around the Arboretum admiring the lights while the entire time Alex's dad explained that "this is just like a Hallmark movie", Keegan grabbed Alex's hand to take a picture under a gazebo and she could feel his heart beating out of his chest. After the picture she turned to ask if he was okay and he was already down on one knee.
