Reynolda Gardens, Village, and Museum of American Art

100 Reynolda Village Way, Winston-Salem, NC 27106

One of our favorite places for a walk not far from downtown. Easy trails meandering through fields and alongside ponds will get you into some nature. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens, or shop-hop in the Village. The Village Tavern, a restaurant in the Village, has great food and pleasant outdoor seating. Or, appreciate the art and historic objects on display at The Museum of American Art (admission fee required for the museum).

Tanglewood Park

4061 Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC 27012

A large county park just outside of Winston-Salem, Tanglewood offers nature trails (bring your binoculars!), a dog park, playgrounds, golf, horseback riding, swimming (the Peter S. Brunstetter Aquatic Center has an amazing pool with baby areas and water activities), and more! Admission fee is $2 per vehicle.

Old Salem Museums & Gardens

900 Old Salem Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27101

Travel back to simpler times at historic Old Salem! Located near downtown, you'll find restored buildings from the original Moravian settlement, a bakery, a museum, and even reenactors. This is a fun place for a walk, but entry into some buildings requires a fee.

Incendiary Brewing Company and Cugino Forno Pizza

486 North Patterson Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27101

Located downtown, the brewery and pizza place are adjacent to each other and share a great outdoor hang out space which regularly has live music on the weekends. The beer and pizza are both excellent. They are also near Bailey Park which also frequently has events.

Forsyth County Central Library

660 West 5th Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101

Located downtown, this great library often has events for kids, such as Family Story Time on Saturday at 11:00 am.

Located downtown, this area has art galleries, restaurants, bars (including an arcade bar!), and coffee shops.

The Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art

A great art museum located near Reynolda that offers "the art of our time through exhibits, experiences, and education programs." There are indoor and outdoor exhibits.

Lam Museum of Anthropology

Carroll Weathers Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27109

Located on the Wake Forest University Reynolda Campus. We've never been there but it sounds interesting! Maybe combine it with a walk at Reynolda Gardens.

Bailey Park

445 Patterson Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27101

This park on the edge of downtown regularly has food trucks, live music, and other events. During the wedding weekend it will host the Gears and Guitars festival which has free cycling events and live music.
