One of our favorite places for a walk not far from downtown. Easy trails meandering through fields and alongside ponds will get you into some nature. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens, or shop-hop in the Village. The Village Tavern, a restaurant in the Village, has great food and pleasant outdoor seating. Or, appreciate the art and historic objects on display at The Museum of American Art (admission fee required for the museum).
A large county park just outside of Winston-Salem, Tanglewood offers nature trails (bring your binoculars!), a dog park, playgrounds, golf, horseback riding, swimming (the Peter S. Brunstetter Aquatic Center has an amazing pool with baby areas and water activities), and more! Admission fee is $2 per vehicle.
Travel back to simpler times at historic Old Salem! Located near downtown, you'll find restored buildings from the original Moravian settlement, a bakery, a museum, and even reenactors. This is a fun place for a walk, but entry into some buildings requires a fee.

Located downtown, the brewery and pizza place are adjacent to each other and share a great outdoor hang out space which regularly has live music on the weekends. The beer and pizza are both excellent. They are also near Bailey Park which also frequently has events.
