Our journey began in December of 2015 in Milledgeville, GA while attending Georgia College. Even though we had mutual friends, of course we had to wait until the night Seth graduated before our paths crossed. We ended up at the same small graduation party where we bonded over playing card games and laughing over the story of Seth getting stuck in a dorm elevator when he was a freshman. Later that night we giggled over cheese dip and swapped numbers. I was still in school, and Seth was leaving the next day to begin graduate school in Athens, GA at UGA. We were both disappointed that it seemed our paths may not cross again. Luckily I am from the Athens area, so over Christmas break, we stayed in touch and went on a few dates. Little did we know that these dates would launch us into our wonderful journey that was and will forever be filled with love, laughter, and adventures! The first year of our relationship we were 72 miles apart. The second year we were 135 miles apart. We could not have asked for a better journey, because we proved that no matter the distance, we love each other endlessly. We always dreamed of living in a city together that we both loved. We spent time in a lot of different cities, but Knoxville, TN felt like home. We have spent the last two years in Knoxville, and we could not have picked a better city to start our lives together.
For 2 weeks in September, we took a trip with our friends, Paul and Brittany. Little did I know that during our adventurous trip to Alberta, Seth was waiting for the perfect moment to propose. While in Banff National Park, we hiked to Little Beehive Overlook where we could see Lake Louise, glaciers, and endless snow-capped mountains. The view was absolutely breathtaking. It was here on a little perched rock that Seth asked me to be his forever adventure partner and marry him. I could not have been more surprised and elated as happy tears immediately filled my eyes. I couldn't say YES fast enough. We celebrated with champagne and friends at the overlook and ended the hike with tea at the Lake Agnes Tea House as an engaged couple.
