Flight
This is the biggest of the two airports and is a United Airlines hub. It is serviced by many airlines. It is about 45min to an hour to get to the lake or our neighborhood by car. ORD is serviced by the CTA Blue Line if you are looking to take public transit. The Blue Line goes downtown (the Loop) where you can then get on other lines. Chicago's train system is hub and spoke. This means that most lines go downtown and then head out to their parts of town but don't connect much with each other except downtown.
Flight
This is the smaller of the two airports and is primarily where Southwest Airlines operates (although some of their flights do use ORD). MDW is the closest airport to downtown Chicago but is smaller and just south of the loop. MDW is serviced by the CTA Orange Line if you are looking to take public transit. The Orange Line goes downtown (the Loop) where you can then get on other lines. Chicago's train system is hub and spoke. This means that most lines go downtown and then head out to their parts of town but don't connect much with each other except downtown.
