Abbi Whipps

and

Jacob Guenther

September 21, 2024

St. Louis Park, MN

It started with a ticket

Our story *as told by Jacob* The first time I met Abbi was reading her name on an order ticket at Gabe's. My first impression of her was that she was beautiful. I mean, look at her. Sue me. But my next impression of her was that she was creative. And to me, that's way more beautiful than being beautiful. You see, at that time, I used to force everyone I worked with to play this game called Would You Rather? I bet you've played it. The difference is that my Would You Rathers were a little on the inappropriate/horrifying side. Not everyone was into it. But Abbi would always answer the questions and would come up questions of her own. Sometimes hers were just as horrifying. In fact, my favorite Would You Rather I've ever been asked was in a text from Abbi. I don't remember what the question was, but it was the first time she ever texted me. And she got my number from the schedule, so I knew she was thinking about me. The first time I knew I loved her and the first time I told her are two different occasions. The first time I told her was the day I graduated college. Of course, I had known I loved her for a bit, but was waiting for the right moment to tell her. And the right time happened to be while we were watching the 2001 animated masterpiece Shrek on DVD in her apartment. Fast forward 10ish years and I love her more than ever. And somehow she still loves me. She goes out of her way to make my life easier. She listens to me complain about my day and gets just as mad as I am about whatever I'm mad at. She's creative and open-minded and has a great sense of humor. She makes me feel more like myself. And when I'm with her, she makes me feel like I'm home. I should have married her years ago.

For all the days along the way
