Looking back at life you realize the grand orchestration of it all. All the little things that lead to the big things that lead to defining moments in your life. It’s crazy to look back and contemplate the chances of a guy from Orlando and a girl from San Antonio winding up in a small town in Utah and falling in love. We met in high school. She moved in at the end of my sophomore year and on her first day walked into my pre calc class and stole the show. Long beautiful brown hair, deep brown eyes, she was gorgeous. At the time though, I was seeing someone else and she started up a relationship with a friend of mine. Yeah she dated a friend of mine but don’t worry I followed Bro code. He would throw parties and invite us and we would end up being in our own little world laughing at jokes and talking while everyone else played video games. We felt so comfortable together and had so much fun that I wish timing would have been better to start dating earlier. I graduated and she was going to Dixie State and had her mission call already. She got out of a relationship, I got out of one, and our timing lined up. She texted me to see if I wanted to hang out (yes she technically made the first move) and of course I wanted to. That night we hung out and I began to fall in love with her. She taught me a dance and we made memories that we still talk about to this day. Eventually after a few weeks we started dating. Life isn’t always a fairy tale, but at the end of the day I am lucky to have my princess by my side to stick with me through the difficult times. I love you SJ, and I am so lucky to be yours. I’m excited for our happily ever after and to hold your hand through all the tough times. I love you, and promise to always love you. You’re my best friend, my adventure buddy, and the only one I’d want by my side. Thank you my Samantha Elizabeth!
Matthew was recently accepted to the University of Utah! He will major in physics with a minor in cognitive science. His end goal is to attend medical school and become a neurosurgeon. He has a long road ahead of him and I could not be more excited to by his side through all of it!! I love you and I am so proud of you Matt! I am attending Brigham Young University where I am finishing up the last few courses I need to apply to dental hygiene school! After three college major changes, I have finally found the career path I will love! We are going to find a home somewhere between our rival universities for the fall, and to end this the cheesy way- we will live happily ever after :)
