Transportation Info
Renting a car is not necessary to get to and around town (unless you plan to take a day trip). Tellurides and the Telluride Express offer service to nearby airports (including Montrose and Durango). Telluride and Mountain Village are very walkable towns and the free gondola allows easy travel between the two until midnight on weeknights and 2am on Friday and Saturday night.

Flight
Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ)
This is the recommended airport to fly into. It's about a 1.5 hour drive to/from Telluride. United and Southwest Airlines fly into MTJ, typically with a layover in Denver.
