Harrison and Rose were introduced briefly at a Creighton basketball game by their mutual friend, TJ. Rose had just accepted her first job out of law school in Houston, and Harrison had matched there for his residency. At the basketball game (which was during law school finals), Rose was moderately horrified by the introduction as she looked like she had been living in the library and probably smelled like it too. After a few words, they parted ways with the intention of connecting when they were both in Houston. Fast forward: Rose had been living in Houston for a couple of months, when TJ texted her out of the blue. The text read "Rose Laughlin: super cool" and included her own phone number. Using all those skills of deductive reasoning she had gained, Rose suspected that he had meant to send her number to someone else. TJ then gave Rose Harrison's number, as he was the intended recipient. Rose texted Harrison and asked him to watch a Creighton basketball game with her. After meeting up and watching the Jays, they became fast friends. Harrison diligently invited Rose to watch more Jays games with him. Turns out, he was not really that big of a basketball fan, and those few months with Rose was the most sports he'd ever consumed. They began hanging out more "as friends." But clearly they were feeling something deeper. However, Harrison remained an enigma to Rose. On one fishing expedition, she asked, "Harrison why are you so nice to me?" He earnestly replied, "well us Nebraskans need to stick together." Harrison, is not actually that earnest, but was not sure if Rose reciprocated his feelings so was attempting to "play it cool. He ultimately believes this was the right move. One fateful day in April, Rose invited Harrison to her favorite bar in Houston, Lei Low. After a couple of very strong tiki drinks, Rose casually mentioned to Harrison that she was definitely single. Harrison, being the learned doctor he is, took this opportunity to ask her out.
