We met in our hometown, Rochester, in the summer of 2017, through a mutual friend. Dan, a friend of Allison’s from high school, became close friends with Erik when they went to college. Erik and Dan remained close and returned home to Rochester. Allison eventually moved back to Rochester, for graduate school, and reconnected with Dan. Through spending time with Dan, Allison began spending time with Erik, as well. Erik and Allison began spending more time together, just the two of them, because Allison had gone to Erik for advice and insight with various challenges and began to confide in him. As we spent more time together, we realized how much we liked each other. Eventually we were spending every single day together, sometimes well into the early morning hours. Talking and listening to music in Erik’s Subaru, in the early hours of January 6th, 2018, we realized how much the relationship we shared meant to each of us. We realized this relationship was so much more than a friendship. We have seen commercials for Subaru that advertise "Love is out there, find it in a Subaru", but we find them very funny, because we actually did! We spent many of our early days together in parks since we both love being in nature. The beautiful scenery only added to how much we enjoyed spending time together, sharing and learning more about each other. When we thought back on where we had started and how far we have come, it felt important to us to incorporate nature and its beauty into our wedding.
