The Story of Katie and Brian

You’ve heard it said that you never get a second chance to make a good first impression. Luckily for Brian, this was not the case for him with Katie. Because Katie's first impression of Brian was that he was an oddly dressed weirdo. However, it was Brian's calm demeanor and positive perspective during an active-shooter scare* during their first law school final that gave Katie her lasting impression of him. After that, Katie and Brian's friendship began. It started with study sessions in the rotunda, group trivia at Linda's and rides to and from the Alta apartments together. As those group hang outs became more frequent, Katie and Brian grew closer. And although neither Katie or Brian knew it yet (even though Ms. Fredia told them both), this tiny acorn of like was about to grow into a mighty oak of love.~ It was on a group trip to Asheville for New Years that Katie and Brian finally admitted what had become apparent- they were sweet on each other. From there Katie and Brian were inseparable. There were some amazing times, like graduation and their trip to Europe. There were some tough times, like studying for the bar and the year spent in different cities. Destiny united them again when an opportunity for Brian in Charleston arose and they went from long distance to living and working together. It didn't take long after that for Brian to ask and Katie to agree to spending the rest of their lives together. *Katie wants the readers to know that the active shooter scare was a false alarm before the final. Brian is just being his usual dramatic self in describing the situation. Brian thinks Katie is being too literal because nothing he is writing is "untrue" and that writers are granted a poetic license for a reason. ~Katie wants the readers to know that she hates this line because it is stupidly cheesy and asked Brian to remove it. It was only because there were several other sentences that were even worse and Brian's begging that it stayed in the description.
