ASAP. The weekend following our wedding is a large music festival in the Valley and bands, crews, and guests start to arrive early so rates will be higher than normal. This weekend (5/17-5/19) last year hotels were fully booked due to the festival. We will have a room block at the Napa Double Tree, but please feel free to stay where ever you feel most comfortable....but make sure to book soon!
Take the 101 (known as the scenic drive) through Marin! 1. Stop at the Golden Gate Bridge Overlook on the Marin side (Battery Spencer View, Alexander Ave exit after crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, there are 3 turnouts along the road) 2. Pull over in Sausalito or just take a pic from the car of the famous Sausalito house boats. 2. Stop at the Marin Headlands to see Muir Woods and the famous redwoods 3. Make a stop at Muir Beach (if you don't get motion sick and see some killer views and the beach Emily used to go to growing up!)
Though just a quick 15-20 mins drive between these two great regions you'll come to find Sonoma and Napa each have their own distinct vibe. We like to say Chis is Napa, Emily is Sonoma....make sure to explore both and you'll see why!
Layers! Napa is warm in the day and cools off in the evening. A day in Napa can start in the 80s and end in the 40s.
