It all started in the fast-paced halls of the emergency department. Alison was a staff nurse, and Joe was the new travel nurse in town. One day, in a pause between call lights and the shuffle of stretchers, they met. Joe introduced himself in the ER hallway, Alison remembers the moment clearly. And Joe says he knew from that moment, that Alison was someone special. In the beginning, their shifts often aligned, giving them moments to talk between patients, laugh, and build a genuine friendship. A few months later, Alison transitioned to day shift, and although they saw each other less at work, their friendship never wavered. They joked, supported each other at work, and endured the endless teasing from coworkers who were clearly “onto them.” Still, they remained just friends...at least for a little while longer. What most didn’t know was that Joe kept extending his travel contract at the hospital...not for the job, but primarily to continue getting to know Alison. Oh, who are we kidding..it was definitely to keep getting to know Alison. After nearly a year of friendship, a lot of patience, and trusting in God’s timing, Joe and Alison went on their first date! Their relationship stands strong on the foundation of friendship that came first. Now, they can’t wait to begin their next chapter together with all of you there to witness🤍
