Malibu Pier

Malibu Pier

23000 California 1, Malibu, CA 90265

The Malibu Pier is a true California gem, built in 1905 and one of the most iconic piers in the state. Just west of the pier, you’ll find the historic, Spanish style Adamson House which was built in 1929 for the Adamson family. The State of California later purchased the property. By 1934, the Malibu Pier opened up to the public, becoming a hotspot for pier and charter fishing. It also marks the eastern boundary of the world’s first surf reserve and has seen the evolution of surfing firsthand—starting with early surfers sneaking into Rancho Malibu, to the days of Gidget trading sandwiches for surf lessons. These days, the pier’s still at the heart of Malibu’s surf culture.
