Flight
For guests flying in- you’ll want to land in SeaTac, this is the largest and closest major airport!
Travel Note
For our family and friends staying, our home is open to you, but if you would rather have some privacy we recommend looking at AirBNB, HomeAway, or VRBO for local rentals. Belfair is where we are located, but Bremerton and Port Orchard are about 15 minutes away. Grapeview and Allyn are also close by, 10-15 mins, but on the other side of the canal from us.
Travel Note
If you’re flying in and need a ride, please let us know! If you’d rather get a rental car, there’s a shuttle from the airport and it’s very straightforward and convenient. There are three ways to get to Belfair from the airport, 1) drive down to Tacoma and up around the Puget Sound 2) drive to Fauntleroy (South Seattle) and take the ferry to Southworth (Port Orchard) then drive to Belfair 3) drive to the Seattle ferry terminal (downtown) and take the ferry to Bremerton then drive to Belfair. All 3 depending on time of day and ferry schedule can take the same length of time. We recommend checking traffic in Tacoma before driving through (it’s horrendous most of the day) and the ferry is usually a less stressful or irritating option because of such. https://www.wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/
Travel Note
If you opt to take the ferry, the time listed on the schedule is the time the ferry arrives. If you’re taking a vehicle over, generally arrive at least 15 minutes before to make the ferry. If it’s a weekday between 2-6 it’s usually an hour wait. In that case, it may be tempting to just drive the whole way, but Tacoma traffic can take 1-2 hours as well. I would personally recommend getting a drink and snack and hanging out in the ferry standby line! Speaking of which, the ferries have a galley with hot and cold bites as well as drinks and beer/wine. You can sit in your car, or walk up to the passenger deck and enjoy the view. During weekday 2-6, Fauntleroy is likely to be the fastest route, as the downtown ferry gets heavier traffic. If you have any questions don’t hesritate to call us!
