The tide goes out 2 miles in some areas of Cape Cod Bay. Breakwater beach is one of these spots and people come from all over to walk the flats. If going out, be careful to time it so that the tide doesn't beat you in ;) Grabbing a coffee and walking the flats is iconic Cape Cod activity and parking at Breakwater Beach parking lot is free after Labor Day. You can check out the tides at https://www.capetides.com/ Paine's Creek and Mayflower Beach are some of the best places on the Cape to see the sunset. Any Bayside beach is great for a beach day, but if looking to be on the Ocean side with waves, the closest beach is Nauset Beach. You can swim, walk the shore line, spot seals, and beachcomb.

This bicycle shop is right on the famous Cape Cod Rail Trail. You can rent a bike here and take off in either direction. The rail trail runs all the way to Wellfleet. The trail runs through lower cape towns with endless food stop options, coffee shops, kettle ponds, and endless scenery along the way. If you make it to Eastham o the bike trail you can bike all the way to Coastguard Beach!

If looking for a full day activity heading up to Provincetown is always a great time. Provincetown is known for its beauty and art. Provincetown is about a 40 min drive from Brewster. You can explore the famous Provincetown Dunes, go on a whale watch, explore commercial street, walk along the Provincetown Causeway, Bike through the Province lands bike trail, have a delicious meal at the Lobster Pot, or hangout at Race Point Beach. Nickerson offers endless walking trails around natural kettle ponds. There are a variety of trail options through scenic, natural wooded areas. If looking for a longer loop, the Cliff pond loop is beautiful in the fall.
