Our Story :)

The Wedding Website of Weston Krug and Emily Schmidt
Question

What is your story?

Answer

Weston and Emily got the privilege of getting placed together at Oelwein for their student teaching their senior year at Wartburg. They had crossed paths many a time in the music department, but hadn't had the chance to sit and talk as close friends. Well, one 45 minute car ride led to another and not too long after, the Avril Lavigne was blasting...and the sparks were flying. :) Each day they would see just about the BIGGEST pumpkin EVER on their drive together to school. They would joke - so much so that it become one of, soon to be, many inside jokes - about the sheer girth of the thing and just how comically ridiculous it would be to carve the pumpkin. One day, Weston insisted on driving separately - for..."marching band practice"... The last day of our carpooling together, Emily noticed the pumpkin...was GONE. Weston parked the car, and asked Emily an important question... Weston said, "So...I guess you might be wondering what happened to the pumpkin...Well, it's in the trunk. I was wondering if you would like to go out to dinner with me and then afterwards, we could carve it together?" Emily, without hesitation, said, "Yes, that sounds great!" (I'm sure Weston already knows this, but that day will go down in history as one of the best days of my life - for how incredibly happy it made me in that moment, and for all the happy moments it came to bring about afterward.) Because they had choir (for Emily) and band (for Weston) rehearsal immediately following their student teaching days, that day - that wonderful day - Emily ran up to her choir friends and simply nodded. They screamed and jumped for joy. A fellow named John Krull came up to lead warm-ups and the choir joyfully swayed and sang ... "Daisyyy...Daisy....give me your answer true! I'm half crazy, all for the love of you! It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage, but you'll look sweet on the seat of a bicycle built for two!" :)
