Our Story

Allie and I first met during the fraternity-sorority event at Iowa State, Yell Like Hell. She wasn't my partner but she was the girl in front of me. We didn't have any common classes or friends so we'd only see each other twice a week at practice. I think both of us anticipated those practices more than most. I'd think about what I was gonna say to her before I'd get there, maybe a joke or a story where I thought I looked cool. Cut to a month later - since I'm a little bit dense, I had nothing to show for all my efforts. No number, no hangouts, nish. But if you know Allie, you know that she tends to make things happen. She showed up at tailgate that she thought I'd be at and we went to a party together that night. It was a Halloween party. She went as a burglar, and I went as a chef, foreshadowing the rest of the year: she stole my heart and I always brought my hot buns. The rest of story can be told in phases: - 2 more years at Iowa State: we loved it and relished in mug nights and countless Stir Frydays. - 2 years long distance: I was in Denver, Allie moved to Boston. It wasn't the easiest but we both got some nice early twenties time with new friends in new places. I spent most of it hiking and snowboarding, while Allie spent it in school and hosting many a themed party with her roommates. -Now the last 3 years in Boston: It started with the pandy and we're still here with our cat of many names, Indie Bindy Buddy Kitty. We love it in Boston - it's the best city in America and we'll go to bat for it. We got engaged in New York City one spectacular night where we had amazing food, had a chance encounter with Aziz Ansari, made some new friends, and stayed out till 4am. It felt like a real NYC night. We hope you have a great time at our wedding, we're so excited for each of you to be there to celebrate and to do two of our favorite things: eating and dancing!
