We met on a sunny afternoon in Chapel Hill, NC. A few weeks earlier, our close friends Danny and Cameron had decided that we should go together to senior formal in Charleston, SC ~as friends~ and we wanted to meet before that weekend. We hit it off right away and knew we would get along - so the weekend was set. We spent that weekend enjoying our friends and soaking up the last bit of our senior year of college. After that weekend, we went on a few dates but as graduation approached, we knew we had very different paths in front of us. Lauren was going into a Master's Program that would eventually take her to Paris and Blake wanted to move out west and was looking for jobs in Colorado. So, we went our separate ways but we continued to talk... As the weeks and months went by we realized we liked and missed each other more than anticipated and decided to give long-distance a try. Blake ended up returning to North Carolina for a job in Charlotte and the long distance became a little shorter. Lauren's program did take her to Paris but Blake came to visit. After school, Lauren also landed a job in Charlotte and shortly thereafter we moved in together. We bounced around a bit and lived in Austin, Colorado, and currently in Seattle with our dog, Friday. Between that first introduction in March 2017 and now life has had its ups and downs and through it all, we discovered we were our own best friends and partners forever.
