How We Met

2011

Freshman year at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire was a year like any other. We both were adjusting to living in the dorms, making new friends, and fighting the up hill battle (literally) to manage our stressful schedules. It wasn't until second semester that things took a turn...for the better. At that time we both were taking an introductory Chemistry class and each day I would sit next to my friend in lecture and comment about the cute boy that sat in the front. As the semester went on my eyes couldn't stop wondering to him in class and in our lab. I found myself doing whatever I could to get his attention, from making sure I was gathering my lab materials at the same time as him, to literally sitting in his line of sight. Towards the end of the semester I made the bold effort to add him on Facebook (oh the joys of modern technology). I asked him if he would help me study for the Chemistry final and, to my surprise, he accepted. A few days later we met in the Towers study lounge and attempted to create our notecards. Turns out, neither of us knew what we were doing. Regardless, we decided to meet again to continue studying. That night we ended up going to a dorm that neither of us lived in and spent the night talking and watching corny movies...he even showed me how he liked to keep warm by putting his legs into the arms of his sweatshirt. It was at that moment that I was sold! From there we continued to spend time together until we reached the end of the semester when he finally asked if I would be his girlfriend.

Where We Are Today

2018

7 years is a long time, but not if you're with the one you love. After Freshman year of college we spent as much time together as we could, from watching Game of Thrones and eating Papa Johns in his dorm room to graduating and moving in together. Not only that but in 2015 we got our amazing, hyper, and ridiculously silly dog Gibbs. I think he has shown us both a lot about unconditional love. Besides our wonderful Gibbs, in 2017 we made the leap to purchase our first house together...and what a journey that was! Not only did we have to wait 72 days to close on our house, but we even had to fight the city to get ourselves a fence! Who knew a chainlink fence would cause so much trouble!? In addition to purchasing a house we also got engaged (shocker). And we couldn't be more excited to become Husband and Wife!
