Things To Do

Check out some of our favorite places below. If you are staying at the Homewood Suites in Brickell, you are right next to the new linear park the "Underline" which you can follow north to a cool outdoor park for kids (5 minute walk) or to the Brickell metromover station (10 minute walk) which connects you to Downtown and the Museum Park right on Biscayne Bay or the Metro which you can use to travel north or south. We have included some attractions below as well as some neighborhoods that are just fun to walk around in.
Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science/Downtown area

Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science/Downtown area

1101 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33132

A fun and family friendly place to spend an afternoon. This is right on the water and is next to several other museums and a public park. If you want the full tourist experience you can wander down to Bayside Marketplace - a big shopping mall on the water with lots of restaurants and people watching.

Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove

Miami, FL

This is our favorite neighborhood in Miami. There's great food everywhere and good window shopping. There are also some historic sites to visit if you don't mind walking. If you want a food by the water there's Monty's (fun, trashy) or Regatta Grove (great food). Lokal is one of the best burgers you can get. Jaguar has excellent ceviche.

Wynwood

Wynwood

Miami, FL

A relatively new art and design neighborhood worth exploring. Check out the outdoor art gallery Wynwood Walls (as well as all the fun crazy graffiti you could ever want). Art galleries and restaurants are everywhere. Panther coffee is great, as is Coyo Taco for quick bites.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, FL 33156

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle, you can spend a whole day exploring this incredible sprawling botanical garden. There's a cafe inside for food.

The beach

The beach

If you want to take a bragging selfie to send to people in colder climates and get some rad tan lines to sport with your fancy outfits, we support you. If you're looking for the classic, Miami experience and people watching, head to South Beach. If you want something quieter and more natural, Bill Baggs State Park is amazing. Stop at the Golden Hog on your way out to the beach for an incredible sandwich.
