While our West Coast story started in San Francisco, a romantic getaway to the Central Coast was where it truly blossomed. On the cusp of a moving across the country, I wanted to show Clay my favorite part of California. Not only is the Central Coast home to many an Atwood family surf vacation, but I wanted to check off a bucket list goal - to stay in a pink room at the Madonna Inn. It was the perfect vacation and we were blown away by the quirky boutique hotel - so much that we couldn't imagine having a California celebration anywhere else. The one-of-a-kind hotel is our happy place, and we can't wait to make it an even happier place as we share it with you!
Our love story is a tale of two coasts and this is reflected in how we wanted to start our new life together. Starting on the East Coast, we said "I do" on the edge of Stowe Lake at the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park with our immediate family - and dozens of onlookers! - there with us. We followed with dinner at a restaurant across the street from our apartment and later joined close friends at our favorite neighborhood bar. Born from the love of our new neighborhood and Central Park's permitting guidelines (not needed for groups of 20 or less!), it truly was a special time for our families to meet, experience a slice of our Upper West Side life, and celebrate our commitment to each other.
