It was early Spring of 2023 at the barn one evening talking to her friends Tony and Angel, that Kaitlyn randomly asked if Tony had any single friends that he could introduce her to. Tony’s response was mentioning “this one guy, Caleb”, but he didn’t think he would be her type. Tony described him as “a bit goofy and quite a nerd”. At this point, after being single with no luck with traditional dating, Kaitlyn thought, “why not?”, and asked Tony to ask Caleb if he would be interested in meeting. Tony agreed and spoke to Caleb about Kaitlyn, even showing him a picture. Caleb told Tony that he thought she was pretty and agreed to exchange numbers. Kaitlyn and Caleb soon began texting and quickly realized that they had a LOT in common and a LOT of the same dreams, interests, and goals in life. They agreed to meet at a horse competition and it was there that they immediately hit it off. When Kaitlyn first saw Caleb that Saturday afternoon, he was standing with his back to her talking to Tony. Seeing a man in jeans, boots, a white t-shirt, and cowboy hat, her first thought was, “Finally…a cowboy”. When he turned, she realized how attractive he was and instantly knew she wanted to meet him. Caleb describes his first impression of Kaitlyn as “she’s cute”. He also was a little worried she was going to be bitchy because she shook his hand like a man. He soon realized that was far from the truth. After the initial awkwardness of face to face introductions, they spent the day sitting next to each other talking and laughing. It was as if they had known each other for years because of how easy and comfortable it was. They agreed to see each other again and it is from there that their relationship grew. It was in June that they began officially dating and as the summer grew into fall, Kaitlyn and Caleb realized that they were falling in love and had each found “the one” in the other. Caleb moved from Dickson to Clarksville to be closer to Kaitlyn. They took weekend trips, (when Kaitlyn gave Caleb Covid), and spent time just enjoying each other’s company. As Fall faded into Winter and the holidays approached, their love grew and with it, the idea of spending their life together, forever. It was a Christmas Trip to the mountains of northern Georgia that deepened their relationship and love. It was Christmas Eve in a town called Dahlonega, surrounded by Christmas lights and atmosphere, that Caleb got down on one knee and presented Kaitlyn with an engagement ring. Under the stars and through the surprise, the tears, and the cheers from onlookers, she said yes.
