FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We ask that everyone please RSVP by May 1, 2026. Because our wedding is international, an earlier response allows plenty of time for travel planning. Our on-site hotel is limited in size and availability, and the room block will be released after May 1, so we encourage booking your accommodations by this date. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love your children and understand that many guests may be traveling to Europe with their families. However, due to the intimate nature of our celebration and venue limitations, the wedding and welcome party will be an adults only event. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate additional guests, including children. We truly appreciate your understanding and the arrangements you make to join us, and we look forward to celebrating together.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

As much as we would love to include everyone, our venue has limited capacity and we are unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those listed on the invitation. If a plus one is being extended, it will be specified on your invitation. Thank you so much for your understanding, and please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Question

Do I need any special documents to rent a car in Italy?

Answer

Yes. Italy now requires U.S. drivers to carry BOTH: A valid U.S. driver’s license, and An International Driving Permit (IDP) Most car rental companies will not release a car without an IDP, and it is required by Italian law if you are stopped while driving. You can obtain an IDP before you travel through AAA or the American Automobile Touring Alliance. It cannot be issued once you’re already abroad.

Question

How do I get to CastelBrando from the airport?

Answer

Car Rental is the most flexible option (especially if you plan to explore). Private Driver or Shuttle services are available Train: Take the train to Conegliano or Vittorio Veneto, then take a short taxi to the castle.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend staying directly at CastelBrando, which has a beautiful hotel onsite. Nearby towns such as Cison di Valmarino, Follina, or Vittorio Veneto also offer charming accommodations if the castle fills up.

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least 1–2 days before the wedding, especially if you’re adjusting to jet lag. This gives you time to relax, explore, and enjoy the area before the celebration begins!

Question

Do I need a visa to travel to Italy?

Answer

U.S. citizens do not need a visa for stays in Italy under 90 days. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date.

Question

What currency is used in Italy?

Answer

Italy uses the Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s a good idea to carry some cash for taxis, tips, and small purchases.

Question

Will my phone work in Italy?

Answer

Most U.S. carriers offer international plans. We recommend checking with your provider ahead of time or purchasing an international SIM or eSIM.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

The two closest and most convenient airports to CastelBrando are: Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) – Ideal for direct international flights Treviso Airport (TSF) – Great for European connections

Question

Do I need a power adapter?

Answer

Yes. Italy uses Type C and F plugs with 220V voltage. Bring a universal adapter with voltage conversion if needed.

Question

Hair tools & Electricity

Answer

Hotel rooms are equipped with hairdryers, so you’ll be covered there. Please note that Italy uses 230V / 50Hz electricity, which is different from the 120V / 60Hz used in the United States. A simple plug adapter alone is not enough for most U.S. hair tools. Before traveling, check your device label: Dual-voltage tools (100–240V) can be used safely with just a plug adapter. Single-voltage tools (110–120V) require a voltage converter rated for the tool’s wattage, in addition to a plug adapter, to avoid damage. Tip: Look for the voltage information printed on your device or charger to confirm compatibility before packing.
