FAQs

Question

Is the Ceremony really optional?

Answer

Yes! We would LOVE for you to be there for the ceremony, but we understand most of our guests are coming from out of town and may not arrive in time. Others may simply be having a hard time finding something to do between the ceremony and reception. Wherever you lie, there are no hard feelings! We’ll meet you at cocktail hour!

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We request that this be an adults only wedding. If your children are invited, it will indicate on the invitation. If your children were not included in the count on your formal invitation please leave them at home as we will not have a place set for them. We encourage everyone to book that babysitter and dance the night away with us!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will be able to accommodate only those listed on your wedding invitation.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Dress code is semi-formal/cocktail attire. For women, that means a floor-length gown, a cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit. For men, a suit or sport coat. No jeans please!

Question

I have dietary restrictions, how can I let you know?

Answer

Where there’s a gluten-free bride, there’s a way! There will be a spot on the RSVP to choose your dinner selection and indicate any allergies or dietary restrictions. We’ll do our best to accommodate. All catering staff should be well-versed in allergens of hors d'oeuvres and your dinner selection.

Question

Is there going to be parking?

Answer

For the ceremony, a section of S. Bellefield Avenue will be blocked off for parking, and public street parking will be available around the venue. If there is no other parking available, garage parking is also available below Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum, 4141 Fifth Ave. For the reception, Phipps has lots of parking. That said, if you are planning to make the most of that open bar we strongly ask that you Uber or use the shuttle services. If you need assistance getting home, anyone in the wedding party will be happy to help!

Question

What should I do between the Ceremony and Reception?

Answer

Visit the “Things To Do” tab! We listed our favorite spots.

Question

Can I go early to Phipps to tour the botanical gardens?

Answer

Absolutely! Phipps is a beautiful place and our reception showcases only a small part of it. You can buy tickets at the door.

Question

What is Pittsburgh weather like in July?

Answer

Expect warm weather (most likely in the 80s). All venues are indoors.

Question

If there is a last minute change that needs to be communicated to guests, how will we know?

Answer

We’ll do our best to email/text/post on social media if there are any big updates and make sure everyone is aware of the change. We’ll also put it on our website.

Question

Any questions we didn’t answer?

Answer

We’d love to answer any other questions! Just text Hannah and Gage, or our parents :)
