She thought she was funny, saying she would settle for a relationship full of board games, movies, laying on the couch, and food. He thought she was funny, too. And nothing about that sounded like settling to either of them. On their first date, he wore a button up, she wore sweatpants. They talked honestly about life, scars, books, their quirks, disappointments, desires - and most importantly, they quoted the grinch together. The next four months were full of raw honesty; liz working WAY too many hours, wes having grace and patience; wes beating her aggressively at Mario kart, liz having less grace and patience; crepes; zoo visits; and the hunt for the best pretzels and beer cheese (still TBD, in case you were wondering). In these months, that both feel like so little time and forever, they've experienced the give and take of life and the mutual feeling that the typical timelines don't matter when two people - who have spent time waiting and discovering what they wanted - find it. They're excited about you joining them to continue the story - taste one of the top three beer cheese's in Winston - and probably make too many references to movies they should've stopped watching years ago.

Her best friend: "Wanna go to the zoo next Tuesday?" She's never been one to pass up on giraffes. So they went - double dating - maybe she was wearing a zebra t-shirt and a vans hat. (She's very good at being casual in important situations). The four of them started off in Africa and chased the giraffes - who were literally running away each time they got close. Finally they stopped to take a picture and while Liz was looking away - Wes got down on one knee. Honestly she can't tell you what he said. She was just so freaking excited she got to say yes (and flip over the ring box that he accidentally presented upside down). We wish we could tell you the giraffes all came to celebrate, but they didn't. But the four of them did lots of celebrating and running around hanging with the animals. And she got very distracted by her ring and they got very excited about the plans to spend the rest of forever with each other.

The couple (of introverts) has decided to do an intimate ceremony in Black Mountain - but are excited to celebrate with you September 8th when they return from their honeymoon.
