We met while we were both working for Amazon in Indiana. At the time, Elise was in HR and Wesley was in Operations both on the same shift. Since we were on the same shift, we interacted but never thought anything of it until it came to Halloween at work - Wesley was dressed in his orange Peyton Manning University of Tennessee jersey and a Mexican sombrero while Elise was dressed as a rocker in a purple wig. To this day, we joke that Wesley was really attracted to Elise's purple wig and that Elise loved Wesley in that Tennessee orange! After Halloween, Wesley reached out to Elise on the weekend. We talked, and Wesley asked Elise if she enjoyed breweries and football. Of course Elise said yes! The next day, we met at Wesley's house, Elise walked right in the garage door and was greeted by a cat - not just a normal cat, but Leo! For everyone who doesn't know Leo - he is sassy with a spicy attitude, but when Elise walked in and pet him, he was an angel. At that moment, Leo had approved and Wesley knew he found his perfect match. The date started at Upland Brewery with flights of beer, crispy duck tacos (little did we know a whole duck would come out and we had to pull it apart ourselves), and taste testing different combinations of beer: IPAs with a stout, lagers with sours, and an IPA with a sour. It was at that first brewery where Elise knew she found her perfect match and a new found appreciation of duck. The date continued to a few more breweries and ended with a couple shots of Puerto Rican rum and Wesley trying to teach Elise a Puerto Rican card game (Briscas). After an amazing night, Wesley asked Elise to be his girlfriend on 11/9/20 - with the month and day adding perfectly to the year, we knew it was meant to be. And if that wasn't a good enough sign, the initials of our first names spell "WE", making us the perfect pair for each other, Forever and Always!
