FAQs

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes. Your passport must also have at least six months until expiration, from the sail date.

Question

Are gratuities included in the cost of the cruise?

Answer

No. Gratuities are however automatically charged to your stateroom account for convenience. Gratuities include your stateroom host or hostess, dining room server, dining room assistance server, and dining room head server. Gratuities are assessed at a rate $16.00 per person, per night, for a total of $64.00 per person for our four night sailing. Additional details regarding gratuities can be found here: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faq/onboard-services/gratuities/?

Question

What about Pirate night?

Answer

Pirate Night is a longstanding tradition on Disney Cruise Line. For our four-night voyage aboard the Disney Wish, Pirate Night is scheduled for the third day, which coincides with the wedding day. Given that the wedding ceremony will take place earlier in the day, guests are welcome to don any pirate attire they desire and participate in the deck party, where they will be treated to onboard fireworks. Notably, Disney Cruise Line stands alone as the sole cruise line that offers fireworks at sea.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

We recommend bringing the following: • Sunscreen • Semi-formal cruise attire • Sea sickness medication (e.g., Dramamine or Bonine) or ginger supplements (e.g., Dramamine Ginger Chews) • Mini-battery powered fan • Swimsuits • Common over-the-counter medications (the ship's medical center is not covered by your health insurance) • Guests over 21 years old may bring either a standard six pack or beer or two standard 750 ml bottles of wine and this must be carried on the ship with you • Magnetic hooks (state room ceilings and walls are made of metal) • Pirate gear (if participating in Pirate night)

Question

Do I need to bring any hair styling tools?

Answer

It depends. Hairdryers are provided in all staterooms. However, curling irons and flat irons are not provided. Please note that Dyson hair dryers / air wraps are prohibited on Disney Cruise Line due to their rated wattage exceeding safe limits. A full list of prohibited items is available here: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/guest-services/prohibited-items/

Question

Can I bring an extension cord or outlet extender?

Answer

No. Surge protectors pose a severe fire risk on cruise ships, due to the design of their electric grid. Any extension cords, USB hubs, outlet extenders, etc. packed in luggage will be confiscated and held at the terminal until the ship returns. The Disney Wish has multiple outlets, USB Type A and C ports for charging in all staterooms.

Question

Are pools open on embarkation day?

Answer

Yes, pools are open and available as soon as you are on the ship! Be sure to pack your swimsuit in your carry-on!

Question

What dining is included in my cruise?

Answer

The Disney Wish offers an extensive dining experience, featuring three main dining rooms: Arendelle, Worlds of Marvel, and 1923. Each evening, your dedicated serving team will accompany you, diligently observing your preferences to enhance your dining experience. Additionally, on Deck 11, Forward, you will discover the Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods, a culinary delight that showcases a diverse array of delectable offerings, including Mickey’s Smokestack Barbeque, Donald’s Cantina, Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, and Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream. Furthermore, stateroom dining is conveniently available 24 hours a day, at no additional cost.

Question

Will all guests be put on the saming dining rotation as the couple?

Answer

Yes! Disney Cruise Line has confirmed that all guests sailing with us for our wedding will be on the same dining rotation.

Question

Can I go on any excursions in Nassau?

Answer

Preferably, no. The wedding is at 1 pm (ship time) on March 5th and excursions typically take multiple hours. However, if you'd like to get off the ship in Nassau to explore the port area, we would recommend doing so early in the morning so not to miss any wedding festivities.

Question

Will we visit Disney's Castaway Cay?

Answer

Yes, our sailing is scheduled to stop at Disney's Castaway Cay on Thursday, March 4th (weather permitting). Currently, it is expected for guests to be able to head ashore at 7:30 am with all aboard time being 4:00 pm. Castaway Cay is home to two main beaches: the family beach and Serenity Bay. The family beach, as the name implies, welcomes all ages and has beautiful views of the ship at the pier. Serenity Bay, located on the other side of the island, is for guests 18 years and older and has its own food location. On Serenity Bay, guests can enjoy a tranquil seascape, away from the hustle and bustle of the family beach and adjacent snorkeling lagoon. On Castaway Cay, there are three main food locations: Cookies Barbeque, Cookies Too Barbeque, and the Serenity Bay Barbeque, each offering included beach side favorites like burgers, hot dogs, fries, fresh fruit, etc. Serenity Bay Barbeque does include some elevated options include steak and salmon. Castaway Cay was the first cruise line private island to have a pier built alongside it, eliminating the need for Tenders. Guests are able to embark and disembark the ship while at Castaway Cay, as they wish. Guests who do not wish to disembark on Castaway Cay may remain onboard the beautiful Disney Wish where food will be available via 24/7 complimentary stateroom dining and poolside options at Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods. We hope you enjoy Disney's beautiful private island, Castaway Cay!

Question

How do I check-in for my cruise?

Answer

For first time cruisers, online check-in may be performed 30-days prior to sailing. You will need photos of passports for all members of your stateroom, along with a picture Disney Cruise Line will use to identify you. Disney Cruise Line will review the online check-in information and will compare it to the passport presented at the port when you arrive. The information used during online check-in must match the information presented at the port.
