Did we meet at Biever Hall? Or at Friar Tuck's (RIP)? We've never agreed. Either way, our friendship began in Fall 2010 as Freshmen at Loyola New Orleans. Three years later, Weslee lured Taylor into the library under the false pretense of studying, and Taylor lured Weslee into The Boot with... what else, but free drinks. Pretty soon we were spending every day together, and we never stopped. Our inseparability has taken us on quite the journey, from NOLA to a fourth floor walk up in East Harlem, to the Puma household of NY's burbs, to the high plains of West Texas, to the Windy City, to the LP lake house in FL, and now as homeowners in Lincoln Park.
Did Weslee know something was up when Taylor, planning a quick trip to New Orleans, booked a room at the Hotel Monteleone? Probably. Maybe it was when Taylor let her dictate the plans for the day; shopping on Magazine Street, lunch at St. James Cheese Company, and a lot of Weslee's favorite activity: wandering aimlessly. Though she still seemed surprised when, quite nervously (on a hot day in August) Taylor popped the question on a walk through Audubon Park. After that, a quick ride on the St. Charles Streetcar for some oysters, champagne, and frozen mojitos to celebrate with friends at Superior Seafood.
