Austin and Nick met the modern way: by swiping right on Tinder (swoon!) in 2022. Our first date was rescheduled because Nick was feeling under the weather—our rescheduled first date was almost cancelled because I was very nervous. However, Nick invited me over to hang out at his place beforehand, so I could meet him before we went out to Decades the next day. Austin would actually count Decades/First Friday in Lancaster as our second date because Nick made him feel loved and safe that first short meeting! A few of Austin and Nick's favorite memories from their time together: Attending many shows, discussing the many books that Austin has read, Nick training Austin for his first Disney World trip, and lots of long car drives. Austin and Nick's proposal was a bit unique as it ended up being a joint proposal. Nick planned to propose to Austin during their Christmas dinner at Pocket Books Shop to celebrate their six month anniversary as a couple—and Austin had the same idea. During a peaceful private dinner in Austin’s favorite bookstore, Nick got down on one knee – Austin said “yes”! Austin had other plans for the evening because he had a photographer present for the second half to take what he called “holiday photos” which turned out to be our engagement photos. When we left the bookstore that evening, Austin had set up 24 candles in a heart in the front yard where he got down on one knee and quoted Walt Disney – “It's kind of fun to do the impossible”. And we have been doing the impossible ever since – we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
