Wedding Update

Due to COVID-19, our wedding date has changed to August 22, 2020. Jake and I were still married on April 25th, but we are so excited to be able to celebrate with friends and family. We will be following states guidelines and CDC recommendations to keep everyone as healthy as possible. We will be sending out invitations in phases to honor the recommended number of people allowed at a gathering. Please RSVP as soon as possible to allow us to coordinate our numbers with the state guidelines. If you or anyone in your household is sick within 2 weeks of our wedding, we kindly ask that you stay home to protect our vulnerable guests.

The Very Beginning

Jake and I met at Promised Land Camp when we were 7 years old. While we were not close friends, we saw each other every summer throughout elementary, middle, and high school. In the summer of 2015, Jake started working at the local grocery store where I would see him once or twice a week. He asked me out twice that summer which I declined both times. It was not until the summer of 2017 that we connected again over social media. Our first date was in August of 2017 and Jake officially asked me to be his girlfriend on December 17, 2017.

The Proposal

After dating for about a year and a half and surviving long-distance, we both graduated and were ready to take the next step in our relationship. On May 15, 2019, Jake and I spent the day at the Washington National Zoo. Afterwards, Jake brought me to Federal Hill Park which overlooks the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. After walking around a bit, we sat down on the side of Federal Hill to take in the view. After just a couple of minutes, Jake was asking me if I was ready to leave. I didn't really want to leave but I figured he was starving so I went along with it. As I stood up, he stayed down and grabbed my hand to turn me around. When I saw that he was on one knee, I thought that he was messing with me and told him to get up! It wasn't until he pulled out a beautiful ring that I realized that he was finally proposing. Of course, I said yes! We are loving the engaged life and are counting down the days until we are finally husband and wife.
