Things To Do

Buena Vista is located in the Arkansas River Valley, one of the most unique and beautiful spots in Colorado. It features views of 12 of Colorado's 53 "fourteeners" (mountains over 14,000 ft.) and has a vast network of hiking and mountain biking trails. Situated on the banks of the Arkansas River, the quaint downtown comes alive in the summer because of its reputation as the whitewater rafting capital of the U.S. In the nearby town of Salida (our hometown), nicknamed the "Heart of the Rockies", you'll find art galleries, shopping, riverside restaurants, and even more outdoor terrain to explore. Whether you want to hike, bike, shop, camp, golf, fish, wine+dine, or get on the river, you can find it in the valley! We'd love to help you make the most of your time here, so if you have any questions please reach out to us!

Downtown Salida

Downtown Salida

Salida, CO 81201

Salida is a beautiful little mountain town just 30 minutes from Buena Vista. The historic downtown sits right along the Arkansas River and turns into a Colorado beach town during the summer. You'll find shops, art galleries (Salida is known for its art scene), breweries, distilleries, wineries, our favorite bakery (Little Red Hen), and beautiful scenery along the river. We've called Salida home since early 2020 and have fallen in love with it. We hope you love it too!
