How We Met

A True Victory

September 8th, 2018. It was a classic set-up. As luck would have it, Bridget's friend and former teammate, Michelle, worked at MuleSoft on the same team as Wes. Knowing Bridget was freshly graduated and single as ever, Michelle organized a meeting between the two. As per her mother and grandmother's instructions that she "would never meet a boyfriend if she didn't start wearing skirts", Bridget suited up, skirt and all, and accompanied a group of friends to Victory Sandwich Bar for the meet up. All it took was one look into those blue eyes for Bridget to know that Michelle might actually be right. As Bridget likes to say, "she wins because she wins", and meeting Wes at Victory that night was the biggest win of them all. The rest is history, and for the record, Bridget hasn't worn a skirt since.

The Engagement

A Hole in One

December 26th, 2020. Bridget spent the day chunking it up on the golf course while she thought Wes was home in Alpharetta watching football with his family. All week, Wendy had been hyping up the "big retirement party" they were having for Jim on the 26th. The table was set, dinner was prepped, and Bridget gave herself a full 20 minutes to get ready for the party after golf. After being forced to change outfits to "look nicer", Bridget got in the car with the rest of her family and set off for what she believed to be a retirement toast for Jim at the clubhouse. "Bridget, we have to stop at my friend's house to pick up a gift for your Dad. It's in a big heavy box on the back porch, so we need you to go get it." Without giving it a second thought, Bridget stomped to the backyard, muttering about always having to do the manual labor. After an initial failed attempt to find the box on the bottom deck, she made her way up the stairs to the top deck, only to realize that there was never a box to find at all. Standing there, looking as bachelor-esque as ever, was Wes. After a short walk where the only words she could muster were "Oh my god what are you doing here", Wes brought her to the 13th green overlooking the water. He dropped to one knee, she said yes, and applause erupted from that top deck where Bridget's family had been watching from afar. As if the moment wasn't special enough, it was followed by an on-green champagne toast where Bridget and Wes got to soak in the moment with Bridget's parents, sisters, and BFF grandma.
