Our Story

May 2017 - We met at Iowa State our freshman year. We lived down the hall from each other and had mutual friends. We started dating the day before we moved out of the Friley Hall dorms.

July 2017 - First time I visited Wes at home in the Chicago burbs (St. Charles). We love going to museums!

December 2017 - We were in our sophomore year and studying a lot together :') (Wes studying Chemical Engineering, Ash studying Math & Stats). We lived in Friley down the hall from each other again.

March 2018 - For spring break our sophomore year, we drove to Dallas (~12 hours)! We enjoyed the zoo, walking around the beautiful SMU campus, and the Bush library museum.

May 2018 - 1 year anniversary <3

June 2018 - That summer, Wes had an internship in Delaware. I flew out to visit him for a week. We explored so many places on the east coast together! (Baltimore, Rehoboth Beach, and Philly)

July 2018 - Took a road trip out to Delaware with his parents and brother to visit and explored more places (this pic was in DC)!

August 2018 - Back together in Ames after our summer apart as we started our junior year! This pic was from a day trip we took to Des Moines, which we did often.

March 2019 - Road tripped to North Carolina. We visited Wes's parent's new house there and did some hiking, kayaking, and exploration of nearby Asheville!

Summer 2019 - I had an internship in Des Moines while Wes had an internship just outside of Chicago. We would visit each other often on the weekends!

September 2019 - We started our senior year at Iowa State. This pic was before the career fair, on our way to scout full time jobs!

March 2020 - Went to the WI Dells on spring break with a group of friends. Everything shut down while we were there b/c covid. Pic from a hike at Devil's Lake!

May 2020 - We spent the last 7 weeks or so finishing the semester and finals virtually in Ames, and then we graduated!

Summer 2020 - Wes started his job as a Process Engineer in Aurora, IL while I started mine at Epic in Madison, WI. The drive was easy (~2.5 hours), so we spent a lot of weekends alternating visiting!

January 2021 - Wes's job moved him to Michigan, so now we were extra long distance (~6 hour drive) :( We we're unable to see each other as often, so we spent a lot of time on zoom!

August 2021 - We took our first trip post-pandemic to NYC!

November 2021 - We took our first trip international trip together to Italy! We fell in love with exploring new places and would continue to travel a lot!

April 2022 - The first of many of our friend's weddings (this was Kara's wedding)!

August 2022 - Wes moved to Madison, and we were finally not living long distance anymore!

September 2022 - We travelled and explored Germany, Austria, and Liechtenstein! Wes got to put his German language skills to test :)

June 2023 - We adopted Clementine, our sweet siamese kitty <3 We are obsessed with her!

February 2024 - We bought and moved into our first house! We have yet to take any pictures of us with the house.

March 2024 - Wes proposed! <3

May 2024 - "Engagement-moon" with a road trip through the Baltics :)

December 2024 - We adopted Kiwi, our second sweet siamese kitty! We are also obsessed with her :)
