Jonathan and I met at UAF on his second day of school and my sophomore year. When we met he asked me for my Instagram but I wasn't interested.. I had completely forgotten that he had asked me. Through the following three years, he and I both really began to pursue the Lord, individually. We would always talk when we'd run into each other typically at the library, but I always admired him for just how passionate he was about Jesus and how he was such a strong leader. A little over a year ago, my car had broken down and his best friend, Jordan, helped me fix it. While it was still broken down, Jonny "helped" me look for new cars by texting me different ads from craigslist. We got to get to know each other a little through that. I had decided to flirt a little and make my interests known and a few weeks later he asked me on a date in Spanish... written on his hand... Google-translated ... and it was perfect. He knew I loved Spanish and had studied abroad in high school. I knew after our first date that there was something really special about him. He had pulled an unwrapped snickerdoodle cookie out of his work jacket pocket and offered it to me! It was so funny. This showed me three things.. He wasn't high maintenance, had a great sense of humor, and a heart of gold. After about a month of us dating, I asked him what his first impression of me was and he said he had thought I was the prettiest girl he'd ever seen... I didn't believe him... But he began to tell this story about how he asked me for my Instagram on his second day of college and I had turned him down... Then it all started to come together! It was so wild to know that God had been orchestrating such a beautiful story before we even knew it. So a year later, my best friend and I decided to make it forever!
