Our Story

Although Jenna and I went to the same high school, and our parents live only two minutes from each other, our paths didn’t cross until the Spring of 2014. Jenna was a freshman at The University of Oklahoma and I was a junior at Texas A&M. We were both back home for Easter break where we were introduced through a mutual friend. I immediately thought this girl was easy to talk to, funny, and pretty easy on the eyes too... and not to mention, newly single. When summer break rolled around a month later, I worked up the courage to text Jenna and we hung out by ourselves for the first time doing what came to be one of our favorite things; going to the basketball court at the park to shoot around and chat. One of the best things I learned about Jenna was that she was athletic, and I didn’t even have to let her win in HORSE… She did that all on her own more than I would like to admit. That same night, we ended up laying down next to each other on the court where we talked for what felt like hours. Somewhere in that conversation, we talked about how much we enjoyed spending time with each other, but Jenna made it very clear that she was not looking to date anybody. To which I (very forwardly) responded that Jenna was the kind of girl I could see myself marrying someday. She was genuine, kind, funny, and a beautiful, strong, Godly woman. Throughout the summer, our relationship as friends grew stronger and stronger and we would hangout and talk daily, while I would steadily attempt to have her see me as somebody she could someday date. Over the next one to two years, we stayed “just friends,” but hardly went a day without talking. Jenna had one to two small spurts of trying to date other guys, but soon found that none of them quite lived up to me. Fast forward to July 2016 following my graduation from A&M, and we finally decided to stop denying ourselves from starting a real relationship. I asked to her be my girlfriend…and she said yes! (and everyone else said FINALLY!)
