Well, to be perfectly Frank, we are not having a reception any longer. The venue we had booked as of today is still unable to host our event, so we opted to cancel. We also tried calling around to other locations to host, but none were holding events. With the wedding only a month away, we had to make a decision about what we were going to do for our special day and couldn't plan for things to happen last minute. We are extremely disappointed, but we must move forward with a plan in relation to what is going on and what we can control. Despite not having a reception, we are still going to have food for everyone! It will be in prepacked containers for everyone to take, and we'll also have a couple stations set up for goodies. We thank everyone for understanding, and we know it's not ideal or your typical wedding, but it's what we can do and we're excited to have you all be a part of it.
We've been engaged almost two years and have been ready for the next step. We have decided on this date as it is our Anniversary date, and we do not want to wait another year to be married. Plus...we're old.
We have cut down our guest list significantly in an attempt to coincide with Covid regulations, going from 160 guests to ~80. Attendees at both the church and reception will be spaced out in an effort to encourage social distancing and keep everyone safe. We will have masks for everyone if you do not have one to bring. The guest count may change (go lower) depending on the situation at the time with regards to the regulations.
