We met over five years ago through Facebook. Chris messaged me and we talked back and forth for a good week before he asked me to go to dinner. He picked me up and took me to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and a couple of drinks. When we finished dinner, we stood outside by his truck for over an hour talking and laughing the entire time. We have been friends ever since dating off and on since then. In November of 2025 we decided to be a couple and date for real because we always seemed to come back to eachother. It was one of those "when ya know, ya know, " situations.

We went on vacation for the beginning of Spring break as a family. Chris, his son Zack, my son Luke, and I along with his daughter and her family. He had planned to propose on the beach during our vacation but the ring he designed didn't come in in time. We were on our way back from the beach and he was notified that it was ready for pickup, so he told me that he had to go to Florence to get a book bag for his son when really it was to pick up the ring. He asked if I wanted to go out to dinner that night and said he would pick me up. He got to my house and came in for a few minutes, then we wemt to leave. When he opened my door to his truck, there was a bag on the seat labeled Kay's. Of course I reached in and pulled out a box. As soon as I opened it, I was in shock! My mouth immediately dropped and I was speechless. So he asked, "are you gonna turn around?" I turned around and he asked me to marry him. It was so sweet and exactly how that moment was supposed to happen.
