Our story began when Wendy's friend Jaydee invited her down to the Garage for Steak Night to meet his son Troy. There was an instant connection, we both felt it, but Troy lived in Missouri and Wendy lived in Washington - halfway across the country from each other. We stayed in touch and struck up an amazing friendship and 5 months later the first of many cross country trips to see each other began as the connection between us could not be denied. For the next 2 years every 3-4 weeks one of us was on a plane to spend time together.
After 2 years of doing the long distance thing, the decision was made that Troy would move to Washington. We packed up Troy's belongings and of course his dog Triton and started on our journey halfway across the United States. Once we got here, Troy's union connections made finding a job close to home in Washington pretty easy.
Troy planned a special weekend for us at Alderbook Inn - a beautiful suite, a wonderful dinner with an amazing view of the canal, and then he popped the question and of course I said yes. It was the prefect day!!!
