We're getting married! / ¡Nos vamos a casar!

2020 was a weird year. Most people would look back on that year, and the couple that followed, and refer to it as an utter dumpster fire. We’re not most people. You know what else is weird? Online dating. Even we have to agree with that one. That said, when you take a bunch of weird things and sprinkle in some hope, you get how we met. God has a weird sense of humor and you need to be paying attention if you’re going to get the punchline. But trust us, it’s worth it. Fast forward to the Spring of 2020 and you have Wendy responding to a joke on Josh’s Hinge profile. She said she didn’t mind loud chewers, which a lot of girls on those apps seem to mind, and was down for a metal show. Fast forward some more, and you’ll sweep past a lot of park dates, patio dinners, and a COVID test quarantine that took fifty years to complete. While the rest of the world was going crazy, we were chatting away on Hinge, teaching Josh the superiority of WhatsApp, and nervously having video calls. We learned to adapt, just like everyone else at that time. We found a sense of escape during such an uncertain time, retreating together into novel dates that brought us together when the world felt so far apart. Blink and you might miss it. Blink and you’ll find yourself here and now, four years later, in love, and ready to spend the rest of our lives together. Like we said, God has a weird sense of humor but we wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s been an absolutely crazy journey to get here, but this is our story and we’re excited to see what the future has in store for us!
