Important Things to Know

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

The venue has very limited parking space which we will be reserving for immediate family and wedding party members. Guests may NOT park in the parking lots of the two businesses connected to our venue. You may park your car at the vacant gas station right in front of the venue. Guests who are driving themselves are encouraged to carpool with one another as much as possible to ensure there are enough parking spaces. Guests also have the option to use rideshare services or a taxi service, or otherwise arrange to be dropped off and picked up, if they wish to skip parking altogether, in which case they can be dropped off directly at the venue.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure that you are able to be seated in time, as the door will be closed at 3:00 and will not be opened again until the ceremony is over.

Question

What is the schedule?

Answer

The ceremony will begin immediately at 3:00 p.m.—meaning guests should arrive at least 15 minutes early, as the door will be closed until the reception. We’re expecting that the ceremony will end somewhere around 3:30, after which our best men, maids of honor and parents will give speeches, and anyone else who would like to make a toast will have the opportunity to do so. The reception will begin around 4:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. For those interested in partying into the night with us, the afterparty will begin at about 11:00 p.m.!

Question

What is the theme?

Answer

Our wedding is gothic and Halloween-inspired! From jack-o’-lanterns and black flowers to candy bowls on every table, we hope to have a scary good time celebrating with everybody!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We have a loose dress code of dressy casual attire. Nice jeans and sneakers are fine, and no color is off-limits—yes, including white! And it probably goes without saying, but there are zero restrictions on visible tattoos, piercings, hair color or style, makeup, jewelry or facial hair. Come as you are! Just make sure whatever you choose to wear is clean and neat, and be well-groomed and hygienic. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to the bride or groom.

Question

Do I need to bring a gift?

Answer

Since we already live together and have most of the things we need, there is no need to bring a physical gift. We are instead providing the option to contribute to our honeymoon fund to those who are able and willing to donate, which can be found on the Registry page of our website. Alternatively you may bring cash as a gift if you wish. If you plan on writing us a check, please make it out to either Wendy Scaletta or Andy Gonzales-Galindo, as neither of us will be changing our names. Please note that any monetary donations are optional and not a requirement! Your presence is the greatest gift to us.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to venue capacity, there is a limit on how many guests we can invite and we cannot accommodate unnamed plus ones. Everyone who is invited and welcome to attend will be named on the invitations. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

Due to venue limitations we are only able to invite children who are family members. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Question

What food will be served?

Answer

We will have a buffet-style spread of lovingly homecooked Guatemalan dishes courtesy of the groom’s mother and aunts! These dishes include pepian (traditional chicken stew), paches de papas (potato tamales), rice and tortillas. There will also be ensalada rusa (cooked veggies with mayo dressing), fresh fruit, fresh veggies with lime and salt, chips, a wide assortment of beverages, bowls of Halloween candy at each table to help yourself to throughout the event, and most importantly, a red velvet cake! If you have any allergies or restrictions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the bride or groom. We want to ensure that each and every guest is accounted for!

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes, there will be limited alcohol served at the reception. We will provide a small selection of hard seltzers, ciders, beers and wine coolers to choose from. Remember, underage drinking is strictly prohibited! Please drink responsibly, and designate a sober driver if needed.

Question

Afterparty information?

Answer

Come party with us after hours! The groom’s best man has very kindly granted permission to use his home to host our afterparty, so please treat the place with respect and care. If you’re interested in going, just ask one of us or a member of our wedding party for the address! Please note, this party is ADULTS ONLY. Alcohol will be available on a BYOB basis, so make sure you have a way to get home safely—we do NOT condone drunk driving! We will also be ordering food for everyone. The party will begin at about 11:00 p.m. and doors will be open the entire duration of the party. This is the time to let loose and have fun. Let’s make it a night to remember!
