Our story began where all good things do—at church. Wendu was in the choir, singing with the voice of an angel, while I was the guy behind the camera, happily tucked away in the AV booth. Back then, our "romance" mostly consisted of me teasing her and giving her a hard time after the service. Everything changed on November 6, 2021. We were celebrating a milestone birthday for Mrs. Ayomobi (who we’re pretty sure was turning 25 again!), and Wendu ended up at our table. Now, anyone who knows me knows I’m a total geek; I could talk about memes, Star Wars, and video games for hours. To my absolute surprise, Wendu didn't just listen—she jumped right in. I completely lost track of time. By the end of the night, I knew I didn't want the conversation to end, and more importantly, I knew I wanted to date her. After dropping her off, we spent the next week glued to our phones. I’ve never been much of a texter, but for her, I’d type forever. On November 13th, we made it official. Wendu has made my life ten times better every day since. On October 24th, 2025, I took the ultimate leap of faith and asked her to be my wife. She said yes, making me the happiest man alive. You could truly say that Jaylan has finally won Wendu.
