Our Story

#paynefullyinlove #becomingdrpayne

As undergraduate students at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX, Wendee and Justin had several mutual friends. Friends who knew how to have a good time with cookouts in the country, and costume parties when the occasion called for it! The couple first became aware of each other at a party hosted by a mutual friend. Justin was focused on a professional golf career, and Wendee was trying to finish her undergraduate degree early so she could start her Masters at Texas Tech University. Although they did not have much interaction beyond attending the same parties, they found their way back to each other in Lubbock in 2018. They had their first date at La Sirena on October 18, 2018 and shut down the restaurant by losing themselves in good conversation and good company. Nearly one year later on October 13, 2019, while hiking in Big Bend National Park, Justin got down on one knee in the rain and asked, "Wendee Langdon, will you marry me?" This love story is only the beginning for Wendee and Justin, and their four fur babies--Ky, Newt, Bandit, and Smokey.

COVID-19 Update

Health and Safety First

Update: In light of COVID-19, we wanted to let you know our wedding is going forward but with a reduced guest list. We regret that we will not have all of our loved ones present, but, in an attempt to continue promoting social distancing, we are limiting our guest list. The preference for our ceremony and reception is to be mask-free, but we do respect personal decisions to wear a mask or face shield. If you are no longer able to attend or you are uncomfortable with our wish for a mask-free wedding, we completely understand and wish you and yours good health and safety.
