That afternoon, Kristyn had just come from a work picnic and met friends at a Fresno game shop for a miniature painting night. She’s always been a little shy about meeting new people, so when she realized she’d been placed next to a stranger, she stealthily swapped name tags to sit by a friend instead. From her new vantage point, she watched people coming and going—until one particular person walked past the window and made her heart skip a beat. Aaron. Her first thought was, “I hope he isn’t sitting with us…” And of course, that’s exactly what happened. Aaron walked in, sat directly across from her, and introduced himself with a smile. The First Date Two days later, on May 9, they had their first date at River Park. Kristyn, true to form, convinced herself Aaron thought he was meeting one of her friends instead.
