We’re getting married!!!

We both decided separately several years before meeting that we wanted to wait for God to place the right person in our lives. We stayed single intentionally for years, and then boom the story starts. I went to one of Irin’s shows in 2016 with some friends, and from there we started “following each other” on social media. Neither one of us thought anything of each other romantically until the very next year at a popular Christian poetry event in Los Angeles. After the event, a group of mutual friends went to dinner. Irin and I wanted to continue getting to know each other so we kept in contact daily and spent time together over the course of a few months. During those months, Irin was intentionally praying about how, when, and if he should continue in pursuit of my heart. On Christmas of 2017, Irin asked me to enter a courtship with marriage being the intention and the rest is history!!

Irin asked me to give some words of encouragement during a show he puts on yearly called, “Wonderfully Made” of course I agreed especially since I had done the same thing a year prior. It was a great show and showcase of talented women. When it was my turn, I spoke about the importance of being content during all seasons of life and trusting God. As soon as I was finished speaking, Irin was on one knee! I was so surprised! I had no idea and felt so special that he planned a whole show just to propose to me. Oh, I definitely said YES!!
