Things To Do

We take life a little slower here at the river. So we hope you'll enjoy your weekend to rest and soak it all in. There are plenty of things to do - lots of restaurants, beaches, and shops. Cute downtowns and historic homes. But you might equally enjoy soaking in the view of the water, watching sunset, and enjoying the quiet it has to offer.

Merroir Tasting Room

784 Locklies Creek Road, Topping, VA 23169
, (804) 758-2871

Where the locals go for all things oysters.

Hughlett Point Natural Area Preserve

Kilmarnock, VA 22482
, (804) 786-7951

This is Charlie's favorite beach. A short walk on a trail through the woods ends with a scenic beach looking onto the bay. When tide is low you can make a 1 mile walking loop. With higher tide, exploring the beach is still an option. And the view is endless.

Irvington

Irvington, VA 22480

Downtown Irvington has several cafes, shops, and is easy to walk or bike around.

Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock, VA 22482

Downtown Kilmarnock is a few blocks of shops and restaurants. There's street parking and a few city lots.

Williamsburg

Williamsburg, VA

Historic Williamsburg (colonial re-enactors, history, food) is an hour drive away. If you've some time to spare, it's worth the drive to experience a few hours in 1800s.

Yorktown

Yorktown, VA 23690

Yorktown has more to explore. The historic area, beach, and restaurants.
