This is Charlie's favorite beach. A short walk on a trail through the woods ends with a scenic beach looking onto the bay. When tide is low you can make a 1 mile walking loop. With higher tide, exploring the beach is still an option. And the view is endless.
Downtown Irvington has several cafes, shops, and is easy to walk or bike around.
Downtown Kilmarnock is a few blocks of shops and restaurants. There's street parking and a few city lots.
Historic Williamsburg (colonial re-enactors, history, food) is an hour drive away. If you've some time to spare, it's worth the drive to experience a few hours in 1800s.
