Colin and Lauren met for a first date at a brewery in Virginia Beach. They ended up talking for over five hours even though there was a downpour of rain. Colin pulled out his work schedule on his phone eager to schedule a second date before they departed and Lauren (who loves a schedule) agreed. The rest is history! Lauren and Colin survived (thrived?) as Colin finished his medical residency at EVMS over the next year and a half. They enjoyed the Chicks Beach life and Colin became a dog Dad to Beau. In June they celebrated Colin accepting an attending physician position at Duke Health. Lauren and Colin recently settled down in Durham so Colin can start his dream job as a Family Medicine physician. Lauren is continuing on as a Senior Business Strategy director in the health insurance industry (with her wfh co worker pup Beau by her side). Colin and Lauren love to travel and have made it as a couple to Portugal, Curaco, and Kauai. They look forward to many more travels, adventures, and of course time with their dog Beau. Also, not only did it rain on their first date, but also right after their engagement in Duke Gardens, and during their engagement photos. “If someone truly loves you, they will walk in the rain with you.
