Reservations recommended. A little story: We once ate here and afterwards took a walk around the area. When walking back to the car, we noticed they were setting up to stream the Mike Tyson v Jake Paul fight. So we perched outside their window, in the freezing February cold, peering in to watch the fight. The owner and staff recognized us from earlier and invited us to watch in the dining room while they did their nightly clean up.
Open 9am-3pm M-Sat. Cash only! Possibly the best deli sandwich you'll ever have in your lifetime. Excellent pie. Andrea recommends The Rebecca.
We can't get enough of this place! Usually a little bit of a wait on the weekends so get on the list early. There is a wall of board games that you can play while you eat. Fun for everyone! Some of our favorite games to play here: Telepathy, Santorini, A Little Wordy, Patchwork, Decorum, Shifting Stones
Shrimp of all varieties! Right across the street from the venue.
They're smashed. They're greasy. They're the best burgers in town.
Open 7am-3pm. Waitlist only. Recommendations: Zach loves the London Fog and Andrea always orders an Iced Thai-licious.
Do you like dogs? You can usually find some here. Live music at night. A must get? The Spinach Artichoke Dip.
Did you know open alcohol is allowed downtown only on the brick-paved streets at Sundance Square? Head to Flying Saucer for a Ruben or French Dip and then take one of their 200+ beers over to chat at Sundance Square. It makes for a lovely evening. Don't forget to bring your glass back and tip your staff!
Reservations recommended. A gorgeous terrace overlooking Downtown Fort Worth with delicious food to boot! Go for the view, stay for the bread service.
Reservations recommended. We think this is better than the official steakhouse. We went here for our second Valentine's Day dinner and the steak was to die for!
Artisanal ice cream doesn't get better than this! If you're lucky, you can snag yourself some lemon blueberry or Texas lavender honey crunch. Cupped in a homemade waffle cone and paired with a walk down Magnolia avenue is always a win.
It's giving Haunted Mansion. A bar with a dark academia vibe and excellent cocktails.
Just around the corner from the venue, this bar hides behind an unassuming door that looks like it belongs to a vampire's lair. Inside feels like artifacts gathered from around the world and the bartenders know what they're doing!
Book in advance. We admittedly don't know much about Jazz. But, this was where we celebrated our third Valentine's Day and the vibes are immaculate. Step back in time, order an espresso martini, and relax.
One of our favorite places to frequent! The staff here is incredible and the drinks are very inventive. They make infusions in-house and the menu is seasonal. A free hot dog is included with every drink (yes, that is not a joke) and the patio out back offers an oasis from city.
Don't know the first thing about wine? Neither do we. But the staff at Neighborhood Wine does! They're the nicest sommeliers we've met. Not pushy, not judgmental, just people who want to share their love of wine.
Partial restaurant, mostly a bowling alley. We found this location when Andrea shot it for work and just had to drag Zach here for an evening out. It may get busy on weekends so larger groups should check the website for reservations.
It's not a trip to Fort Worth without a visit to Sundance Square. Live music is here nearly every night and is located in a walkable area. A little hint: Head to the northwest corner and cross the street by the Starbucks to find a quaint alleyway with excellent selfie spots. (Trust us, you can't miss it!)
Be surrounded by high rises while watching a movie at the park. The location also offers drinks and popcorn for sale. Looking for something more substantial to nom on? We suggest dropping by Picchi Pacchi Pizza beforehand and walking over to the park. Storytime! When we first started dating, we decided to watch a movie at the same time from each of our homes. The movie that we picked? Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Thus began an 18 month journey where we watched every animated Disney movie in order of it's release. When we finally reached the end, Inside Out 2 had just released and we headed to watch it at Burk Burnett Park in celebration.
Movies at the park not your thing? What about a rooftop overlooking the city? Well, you're in luck because that's exactly what Rooftop Cinema Club is all about. This one can get a little pricey for a movie but the experience is one-of-a-kind. Little fact: Zach saw Casablanca for the first time at Rooftop Cinema Club. Andrea also dragged him to a Taylor Swift silent dance party.
This place is a stunner! The views of Downtown skyline lights set behind a drive-in movie screen are a sight to see! They also sell a variety of concessions here and offer lawn games like cornhole and connect 4. You won't find many places in the world quite like this.
It's hard to beat this museum because it is 100% completely free! From renaissance paintings to an expansive sculpture garden, this is an easy must-do. (And has a free parking lot!) Paired with any of the other nearby museums, this cultural district can easily fill an entire day.
Located right next to the Kimbell Art Museum, The Modern features...well, modern art. It's had work on display from artists like Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, and Jackson Pollock. The Cafe' here is also highly-rated, though we have yet to try it. Unlike the Kimbell, tickets are required for this museum.
The Japanese Gardens here are probably what the Fort Worth Botanical Garden is most famous for but that's not all it has to offer. The central path feels like a lux landscape from an old castle and during the autumn, the colors of the trees enhance it's beauty. The end of November also begins their Christmas celebrations, featuring special holiday lighting.
Do you want to hand-feed giraffes from a terrace? Who are we kidding? Of course you do! That's why you have to head over to the Fort Worth Zoo. It's one of the top zoos in the nation. Also, have you ever seen goats scaling a cliffside? You should go just for that.
When people think Fort Worth, they usually think of the Fort Worth Stockyards. Yes, it is touristy. Yes, it is worth it. Make sure you time your day to catch the cattle drive walk down Exchange Ave. You could easily spend most of a day here just browsing the shops, dining, and going to museums.
Speaking of the Stockyards, make sure to drop into Hotel Drover. You don't have to be staying here to enjoy and appreciate its modern Western decor. There is a bar out by their back gardens and an onsite restaurant with top reviews. Or just sit down with family and friends to chat. It's the perfect place to take a rest from all of that walking!
If you want great food, great shopping, a movie theater, and a bowling alley all in one place, The Shops at Clearfork are for you! We once said that the perfect day in Fort Worth included ahi tuna nachos at Mesero, followed by pistachio macarons at Amorino Gelato, and finished off with a movie or bowling.
Remember all of those arcade games from your childhood? What if you could play them all again for one flat cost? Well, that's the idea of Cidercade.
If there's one place we have to be careful going to, its Doc's Records and Vintage. There is a gigantic selection of both new and secondhand vinyl records sweeping across the warehouse floor. If you make your way to the back, you'll find vintage shopping with unique and one-of-a-kind pieces. We love to show off our records on the walls back home and each of us have our own 3 by 3 display that we change out intermittently. Doc's is a scary place for our wallets but always a good time.
